Kijuka
The Farmer
Three short stories, drum music and lots of movement and dance suitable
for pre-school and junior primary children up to ages 6 or 7.
Kijuka was a very little man who was also a farmer.
He lived in a place where there was nothing at all except tall thorn
trees and small shrubs. It rarely rained, but when it did, it all
came at once.
Kijuka kept one cow called Marealle who provided
him with plenty of milk but he had to walk a long way to gather
feed for her.
One day Kijuka found a tiny shiny stone while
digging up potatoes for his lunch. This little stone made changes
to his life and made Marealle worry about her future.
However, the story ends happily with plenty
of dancing and chanting by the audience.
