Ndito the Masai Girl
A detailed story of Ndito the Masai Girl written by Sheela Langeberg.
Ndito the Masai Girl, is a story about a little nomad girl. It's a story about dreams, courage, determination and a little bit of attitude.
On the way to fulfill her life long dream of meeting with her favourite birds the Marabou, Flamingos and the Peacock, Ndito is faced by many obstacles.
First, Ndito must sing in concert with the rain, then she must go past the home of Mama Yeyo -a very old crone feared by all. Mama Yeyo had no teeth, no hair and no family of her own. She would always sit in her door way talking to herself and waiting for her death that never came soon enough. At least that's what all the villagers thought. Mama Yeyo would say things that really came true. Then Ndito must go past the home of Mzee -a very old man with no teeth-not even one, no hair, no bottom-not even a little one and family of his own either. He would sit on the lawns infront of his little red hut and talk to his little imaginary friend who seemed to be sitting on Mzee's right shoulder. Mzee had the most compelling eyes. Day and night he would dance with big frogs and mud crabs and force everyone passing by to join in .Lastly but not the least, Ndito must go past the home of two umbilical twin brothers and their mysterious friend called DOTI. And the adventures of the story start here.
Ndito's story is colourful , educational, captivating, mesmerizing and spellbinding.
